but you'll have to explain how growth numbers we see on TV capture the date Larry Craig had in the Minneapolis airport (assuming he paid for it).

I have to explain no such thing. For one thing most of them don't, and make no attempt. Any numbers that do attempt to capture illegal activity are pretty much guesses. But that aside I'm not saying anything about economic growth numbers, I've been talking about economic growth. You don't have to defend specific stats to support the concept. That having been said I think the numbers give a decent idea of what's happening with economic growth, but "decent idea" != "precisely accurate figure".

No one said anything about "generally" or "world as a whole".

False.

From my posts in this conversation (emphasis added)
"Economic growth is a general good."
"its typically positive not negative"
"Besides generally resources don't get used up completely."
"economic activity generally, or the world as a whole."

1 - Somewhat exagerated as a problem (which doesn't mean not a problem or even not a somewhat serious one.

2 - Largely caused by government.
