This past weekend in San Antonio I had the honor of visiting with and speaking to some of our most passionate and active conservatives – the Texas Federation of Republican Women.

One of the things I love about coming home to Texas is I come home to a great role model for the rest of the country.

Texas wouldn’t be a red state if it weren’t for a veritable army of dedicated, highly-motivated conservatives like you. Texas is red because Republican women work and when Republican women work, conservative candidates win.

So I was honored to thank them, and I was reminded that we have no shortage of battles to fight.

The Obama Administration has nurtured a culture of political intimidation in Washington, and now its sights are fixed squarely on Texas.

As Texans, our response to their plan is simple: Not on Our Watch. If there must remain one last bastion of freedom – one last haven of opportunity – let it be Texas.

To keep that commitment, my campaign has launched a project called “Keep It Red”to help ensure that Texas remains a beacon of economic freedom and prosperity.

Like the brave Texans who drew a line in the sand at the Alamo, and defeated Santa Anna at San Jacinto, we will stand for freedom, self-determination, and opportunity.

Together, we will work day in and day out to Keep Texas Red.

Thank you, and may God continue to bless the great state of Texas.

Senator John Cornyn
