And the Dems were livid, claiming it was some kind of "Wall Street Payoff." The reality was that it was a sound approach to solving the problem. Today, US Government debt isn't worth a damn, regardless of what S&P and others say. There is no way all these commitments are going to be met and everyone knows it.
