Ah, we were over this one. And the key word is "some." That particular woman happens to make a pretty good living, and she had pretty shitty insurance. The percentage of people that are self-employed and make a decent amount of money that have such crappy plans to the point that they'd see that kind of disparity is likely pretty small. If a couple percent of the population pay an extra thousand a year, but most people pay less and tens of millions get insurance that they otherwise wouldn't have at all, is that an acceptable outcome for you?
