I spent half my life in the public sector and half my life in the hard ball private sector. It is a myth that business people can run government better than social scientist's. In both the public and private sector I got to see and deal with the top tough guys, the best and the brightest. I got my ass kicked a lot too. Business people pretty much only think about making money. It is one track thinking and does not translate over to running a society. Running a society is complicated and takes thought. The people in the public sector seem to care more about the welfare of the society. The business sector is too often really cutthroat. I was a stock trader for my own account for 30 years (Canadian wts were my specialty), why I am on SI to begin with and I sold real estate for 22 years. So I have seen it all. I was also the state director of three programs and ran for the state legislature. So I have seen it ll there as well. People are making a huge mistake that do not value our government and civil servants!
