Hill country, in this area, has more weather variation over short distances than other places we've lived (flat terrain, in 7 states), except for very hilly northern PA. Neither nearly as much as your high mountain topography. That's really something.

RU retired? If not, what type of work do you do? TIA.

Sunny weather should be good for solar energy and for astronomy if you're interested in that. We still have 10" Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain we bot when we were members of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society in the early to mid 1980s. Great group. We were the rookies. Some of the more experienced members were amazing at the "star hopping" talented amateurs use to locate deep space objects like globular clusters or very strange looking nebulae. There were also a few who were very good at astro-photography.

In addition to editing the newsletter, for a year, was the only Archeo-Astronomy maven in the group. Gave an hour talk and slide presentation about it at one of the monthly meetings covering sites I'd studied and visited on trips to England & France. Over 100 people attended, the largest turnout for any meeting during the time were were active.

Although it was fun to do and the feedback was very positive, it was the only time I ever gave did it.

Sorry to ramble.
