I made several stoves similar to this one, and used one on the AT for a while.
google 'photon stove', iirc.

There is a guy who makes a similar stove out of copper and silver solder.
More durable but still lite weight. Ultralite backpackers are heavy into
this stuff.

BTW, my heaviest tent is 4 lbs. The lightest 39 ozs., a Six Moon Design.
On the AT I was able to cut my pack wt. from 40 lbs. with 7 days food,
down to 32 lbs. Many ultralighters carry 25 lbs. or less, but only carry 3-4
days food.
