I am not affected as yet, by the ACA, however it makes me irritated that Medicaid people get what is effectively the Platinum Plan Plus...Dental.
It's actually a lot worse than that in reality, Tide. The cancellation of many many medical plans also will encompass the included dental plans that people have, along with the optical plans for eye exams and glasses/contacts.
The part-timers at Home Depot are one great example. With the loss of their medical, they also lost dental.
Many other people are going to get hurt by this. I know many small business offer dental coverage, and these plans will disappear. (Starbucks? Restaurants? grocery stores? hardware outlets? etc)
When the major companies begin to consolidate and fold/withdraw from obamacare (Aetna, MetLife, BCBS, Cigna), the policies that contain dental from the employers will be gone. Optical plans will probably go away with them.
Dental insurance is not very profitable, and that's why there are annual maximums. Individual policies are reaching the marketplace from these companies in the last year, and none are a good deal, including the AARP ones from Delta.
Of course, you will never hear this from the lapdog press on tv, or from kenny_troll. |
