Another interesting footnote is that Systran recently announced a strategic partnership with Aerotech World Trade for I/O products. Guess who is an Ancor channel partner? Aerotech World Trade.

West Coast Reps (COTS systems reseller) via its relationship with Aerotech also resells Ancor products.

I have been doing a fair amount of digging recently on Fibre Channel and avionics applications. I had a big ol' post ready to go last week with a bunch of links but then lost it when my browser crashed.

I found that FC appears to be making major inroads with Systran leading the charge. I came across a number of references to Systran winning military SBIR awards which led to Systran's development of SCRAMNet and the FC transparent switch. (Systran has an info packed web site as well... bring along a frech copy of Acrobat Reader <g>).

Other FC avionics references I recall came from DY4, Litton, and of course our friends at Boeing. T11 also has a project underway (FC-AE) to create implementation guides for avionics/military applications.

There's a lot of smoke out there. The fire must be close at hand. I have a feeling Ancor is going to make beaucoup dollars in this "niche."
