Brent-WTI should narrow as LLS rebounds vs. Brent and LLS-WTI
moves to parity, but there are risks before year-end
28 October 2013 ¦ 13 pages ir.citi.com

The Brent-WTI price differential has blown out recently, but should narrow in
November, though there are risks through to year-end. Brent-WTI moved from
over $25 at times in 4Q’12 to parity in 3Q’13 as Cushing was progressively
debottlenecked. But in recent weeks, Brent-WTI has blown back out to ~$10.
Cushing stocks have even risen for the last two weeks after sustained draws
since early summer, as more crude has arrived from the Permian Basin.
