Hi bentway; The US system is designed to support two parties. If the Republicans fail to take a substantial percentage of the minority vote, then the Democrats will end up splitting. And the white conservative vote will end up in one half of the Democratic party. And that party will be the new Republican party. But that's unlikely to happen. Instead, minorities will move over to the Republican party.

Y'all are confusing a situation where even whites left the Republican party with one where the Republican party is unable to get minority votes. The Republicans have picked up minority voters in the past and they'll do it again. But for now, people's financial interests take precedence.

Do I need to remind you that the Republicans control the House and that the next reapportionment isn't coming for something around 8 years?

One-party states tend to become increasingly corrupt over time. Eventually the public rebels. Even happened in Mexico.
