Dear Dmitry,

First, let me say that this reply is directed to SI Craig (Owner), not you. I know you are only doing what you are paid to do. Now , for my reply.

I have made it a personal rule to avoid paying ANY chat site since Matt Brown went to the Federal pen. It has been my experience that site owners will continue to load onerous crap on their sites, even on paying "members" to keep them renewing their subscriptions. Such is the stated policy of this site, as well. If one lets their subscription lapse, even through oversight, after the 30 day period ends they will be back where they started but lighter in the wallet.

It appears SI is following the example set by Investors Hub. They have loaded that site so heavily with ads that is has become unusable. Page loads take forever (like the "new" SI) and the user actually has to search for content in a sea of ads.

The owner of a chat site should realize that the reason anyone comes to the site is for discussion. Anything that detracts from ease of use in discussion detracts from the site. I do not mind SI trying to make some money serving up ads (within reason). But the infrastructure should have been upgraded to handle the advertising load. I am on my iPad but use Firefox with AdBlocker Plus on my notebook. It provides a reasonable solution.

Owners of discussion sites should realize that they work in a vey competitive market. People vote with their feet (or, in this case, their eyeballs). Those eyeballs are a discussion site's primary asset. Not the hardware. Not the software. Not the admins. Not the owners.

Just wanted to state my case before the topic becomes off-limits.
