Some observation that will make the goldbugs happy!!!! but sugar did better!!!

from the market top in May 2008 the S&P 500 advanced about 22% and all of it during the last year
From the same date, the price of gold advanced around 42%
From the same date, the price of silver advanced around 18%
From the same date, the price of Corn dropped from 600 to 426 cents loss over 25%
From the same date, the price of Crude oil went from around $132 to $94 today loss over 25%
From the same date, the price of sugar 11 went from around 11 cent to 18 cents today or 55%

SUGAR MADE MORE THAN GOLD

Investing in the AUD and collecting around 5% interest performed better than the S&P 500
(in 2007 I bought GE bonds with 5.25 yield and reinvested the dividends)

Bottom line in the stock market few make money with buy and hold, and it is a rolling of the dice affair

wonder how other commodities performed.
