i too paid $75 for a lifetime membership in september of 1997.

Every smart business man would automatically grant some (even if limited to few years) paid membership to those members, who are here from very start and still active no matter if they ever paid any dollar or not. They did contribute their fair share for this place to be what it is.

How foolish of new owners to treat people like you, they way they do. :-(
This place feels to me now like: "lets milk them and nickel and dime them as much as we can no matter for consequences"
