Since my youngest brother has a home overlooking Lake Travis (Hippie Hollow) and I stay with him when I go to Austin (now about once a year), I have some sense for what is happening there. The water levels are fairly dramatically lower than, say, ten years ago. My brother emailed me some comparative photos of the levels but I can't find them now.

But the major topic of conversation in his circles is a comparison with a similar drought in the early 50s. And lots of talk that droughts always end. Just don't know when.
