You've offered a link to an old piece from last September, playing off a NYTimes piece as a way to defend your McCarthyism.

That link is of an interview with de Blasio to address the NYTimes piece. I thought he handled the response to the NYTimes piece very well and as a result the McCarthyite tone of the charges simply disappeared from the campaign. Lhota tried to resurrect them at one point and was soundly rebuked by all and sundry.

I particularly like the quote in this piece you link which is presented as a word for word quote from de Blasio:

“I think that article didn’t fully represent what I feel except for one passage,” he said, “that very accurately noted that one part of me is a New Deal Democrat–just an updated version of it–one part of me is probably similar to a European Social Democrat, and I’m also very deeply influenced by liberation theology, which I learned a lot about in the years I worked on Latin America.”

Now there's a set of views that resonate with me. It looks as if we are going to get a chance to see if he can navigate the rough waters of governing New York City. The NYTimes has a piece this morning on what the mayor's mansion will look like if de Blasio wins. Bloomberg refused to move in. Too small for his tastes.
