I had a friend who is now an actuary but when he started out worked for BCBS in Seattle. He was in a large room with a few hundred people all of whom poured over claims and whose job was to find reasons for rejecting the claims. Your faith in insurance companies is misplaced. Why do you think that most bankruptcies are caused by medical issues?
