Mel,
United Healthcare's stock has nearly tripled since Obamacare's passage.
That had little to do with ObamaCare itself and more to do with UNH expanding like crazy, including taking in a ton more Medicare Advantage patients.

Just recently, however, the drop-off in Medicare funding has negatively impacted UNH. And it's likely that the resulting revenue drop will not be offset by the additional enrollees that ObamaCare was supposed to bring in.
The other best part is... government subsidies for their customer base. "Can't afford our product? No problems. The US government will pay us on your behalf!"
Those in the know should already see this train wreck coming, even within UNH.

Bottom line is that I really don't think UNH and other Big Insurance companies have much say in this program. Once the costs explode, they're going to be in the crosshairs once again.

Because think about the end-game, which is single payer. That's when the government takes total control over the health insurance industry, then use that legalized monopoly to dictate prices.
