He is talking about something else that a lot of Christians won't even acknowledge as true. That many are called but few are chosen. That Jesus will cast some out into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. They will be away from Jesus and His glory and have no rewards but they are not cast into the lake of fire because they are saved. But they did nothing for Jesus. They buried their talent and showed no increase. They were at the wedding feast but they had no wedding clothes (righteous acts) and they were cast out. Jesus talked a lot about judging His servants based on their productivity. He didn't talk at all about judging them for their sins. But the devil has pulled the wool over the Church's eyes and got us worried about our sins instead of our obedience.
Matthew 22:12-14
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
12 and he *said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14 For many are [ a]called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 25:23-29
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
24 “And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’
26 “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. 27 Then you ought to have put my money [ a]in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 28 Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’
29 “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. |
