We don't agree because I don't take verses out of context to justify a doctrine. I prefer to read the entire Bible and form doctrines based on the whole body of scripture.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
The Bible testifies of Jesus Christ. Man generally attempts to bring Christ down from heaven. In other words, to conform his belief of Christ to fit his mold. This is why we are taught to die to self. Otherwise we may never see Christ in this life, and in that case we will wish we were never going to see him on the judgement day.
Of course we would all like to think that we never have to "die daily" as Paul says. Life would be so much easier. Sinner's prayer then party on Garth!
Jude warned us. Why would he have to warn us if just a simple one time prayer would save us? :
