yeah, i'm in the same boat as too many others. it is sad because this has been my home page for all these years. but i guess that's over. i don't think i want to look at SI through that banner telling me i'm not allowing their ads. i had one guy (dmtry) tell me to produce a receipt! ha ha ha. i do remember writing that check and mailing it...how archaic! at the time, my husband was unemployed and it was a leap of faith to spend $75 on something as ephemeral as a web site. but it was a splendid place to hang out and so i never left...until now, i guess. there are many many very close and long term relationships that have been built over the years on SI. i don't think the new owners fully appreciated what they had bought. certainly, in today's world, relationships take a back seat to profit.
