Did you see that article in USA Today about what's going on in Alaska? They have a picture of some guys nailing insulation. I thought when I saw it it was the wall of a building that they would then stand up right. BUT, they were actually nailing it to the GROUND. They were nailing insulation down on the ROAD. It was an attempt to keep the permafrost that underlays the road from melting. Apparently they are having all sorts of problems in Alaska from melting permafrost. It would be like having a house in the mid-U.S. and suddenly having the ground underneath it turn into swamp. I don't know if that has any relevance regarding global warming but it certainly means SOMETHING is going on and the people affected by it DON'T like it.
