No, you have it backward... although your second paragraphs hits it yes...

We could also say that just on our part if OUR INTENTION is that it's OK to allow certain areas to compete in various ways resulting in our production good X to move there that would also be fine.

The Japanese rice/food example comes to mind, but of course ANY process or good deemed "important" would be the same thing... assuming you actually have what we call "a country", then NOT paying attention and regulating trade when needed may make you rely on another one for survival. Although true, of course, I don't imagine we'll here you address this little inconvenient truth... {crickets}.

Of course who's ever running it will get kicked out eventually when the population sees what they are doing.... Unless you redefine "country".

Of course as the eventual unfolds, all the RWingNutz will be kicking and screaming when the "protectionists" swing the pendulum the other way... and too far, just as has happened going the way it has.
