Yes, but surely part of the blame is that the elected side of the government is so nutty that the Fed ends up playing dangerously as well.

Certainly RE on the Peninsula side of the Bay Area has been fully re-inflated, fueled by both the QE and Y2K internet bubble #2, aka social media. Other places like my own little backwater actually still have good deals.
