Buying a 70D body is probably your cheapest option to get extended range - same number of pixels, so 50% more reach (everything else being equal, which probably won't quite be the case).

I'm assuming you live in the US, so why not try Lens Rentals ?

Pretty cheap way to try a decent copy of several of the affordable options, and if the lens you're looking at isn't on that list, it's probably not one you want anyway.

Could save a lot of time & money.
