I am using a HP old computer that has served me well. It has Windows Vista on it and I am accustomed to it.

As THE COW told me to do I run Microsoft Essentials full Scan once a week.

Yesterday when I turn the computer on it rolls and rolls and there is nothing visible on the screen with the exception of this blurring rolling until the Blue Microsoft Screen comes up.
Is this indicative of anything going wrong as it is quite unusual.....

I want to be prepared as I have no back up and TheCow did download my pictures to a thumbnail
for back up but that is all.

I thought maybe a Google Chrome would be a good choice but EVERYONE I KNOW KEEPS TELLING ME TO GET AN APPLE.... they are safest and easier to use. However, I have limited knowledge of computers and being as I am in my eighties limited in a LOT OF THINGS LIKE re learning anything new.

Content with the old tried and true but want to be prepared as I was a Girl Scout at one time. SMILE.

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ? I have read some rather horrific things about Windows 8 and am afraid of it too.

HELP FROM YOU MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ABLE PERFORMERS OUT THERE.

FIRST THING TOO do you know if I were to buy a computer from like Staples ( in NC they come to your home for ninety bucks if you buy from them and download everything you want to the new computer and set you up no matter how much time it takes ) but I would love INPUT from those of you in the KNOW.

THANK YOU and hope this computer holds up just a little longer..
