We got one of these machines in my store last week after waiting quite awhile. The paperwork that came with it said they cost 25,000 per machine and the store gets 3% of the 7.5% which leaves coinstar with 4.5 gross. Thats not much to work with is it? What do they do with all those coins, it seems that would be a labor consuming effort to redeem the coins they just redeemed. The machine is popular but is it profitable. Other public companies that interacted with my type of business such as CATALINA, (coupons) and CHECKPOINT (security) have done well share value wise, so I thought I would check this out tonight. It is a great idea.
