I was in sixth grade, and remember being at the playground for recess when one of our teachers, a strong relatively macho guy, came out close to tears to herd us back inside, telling us that Kennedy had been shot. The next few days we were home from school, watching the ceremonies on TV.Even at that age, I recall thinking that the world had just shifted in some way, and things were going to be unsettled for a long while.
