re. CFX. Imo, a reason for buying is expressed in this week's edition of Barron's in an interview with Chuck Akre about his Focus Fund:
" Colfax (CFX) is another highly specialized company with good management, Akre says. Colfax is a holding company of manufacturing businesses specializing in fluid handling for a wide range of industries, such as oil and gas, commercial marine, defense, and power generation. Last year Colfax acquired Charter International, a London-based engineering business several times its size. The firm was founded by the two brothers, Mitchell and Steven Rales, who also founded manufacturing giant Danaher (DHR)."
Since I like how DHR's performed over the years, I might like what the brothers could do with CFX. CFX stock though, as well as the others you've mentioned, seems too rich for me for a buy at current levels. |
