Energy companies are looking for new, non-traditional ways to monetize reserves. There is a push in Central/South America to develop several large natural gas fields. Unfortunately, the markets for natural gas are in northern North America and Japan/Korea. I think increasingly you'll see major oil companies in Cen/S America taking a stake in end-users of energy. Several majors and Enron, are working feverishly to partner with electric companies for power generation. As an ADL shareholder, I'm pleased to see this development. As an employee of a major oil company, I see a good strategic fit for Enron.
