My friend is finding increasing demand for the M-Vac by a number of Police Depts and Crime Labs..

Arapahoe Country in Colorado just purchased one in hopes of solving a 2009 murder.

There is a bit of "errata" in the following article. Sirchie is a distributor for M-Vac, not the manufacturer.

"CBS4 learned Robinson’s office has contracted to buy a DNA vacuuming recovery system manufactured by the Sirchie Company that can retrieve DNA samples from all types of surfaces. Sirchie reports “this method of retrieval has been proven, through independent studies, to capture significantly more DNA than traditional swabbing methods on porous surfaces.”

There has been increasing awareness of M-Vac since the technology was used to solve an 18 year old murder in Utah. It was used to sample an 18 year old piece of granite that was used as the murder weapon. After sampling, a positive DNA profile was identified for the first time and matched an exist profile in the national database. And arrest and indictment soon followed.

He would still entertain "credible" and longer term investment, but these recent sales have grown their revenues by 500% and he anticipates further such growth next year. So I'm hoping that we were the last the "angel investors" his company will require..
