First off I want to say, I miss having the time to post on SI. I do lurk from time to time, so I have been reading what everyone else posts. So now beat me up if you must I'm here to ask for something! I'm hoping my past contributions mean that my stock here still has a little value.

That said, I asked ahhaha permission to make a plea for a little help from the thread members. As some of you are aware I do IT support for a small decorative painting firm that does historic restoration, murals, faux finishes, etc. I'm trying to help them get enough FB votes to be eligible for the Chase Bank Small business grant. The votes are needed just to get to the judging round. We're coming up on the deadline of Nov 15 (this Friday) and we're shy about 99 votes.

Some people who actually like us were turned off by the Chase request for access to their friends list in order to vote. I've been all over their privacy statement and I'm reasonably certain that they don't intend to spam anyone on your list of friends (as sure as one can be when dealing with a large bank) that the access to the friends list is just about making sure the voting is being done by an actual person, not a computer bot that created 250 FB accounts overnight.

You can vote for more than one small business so voting for us doesn't keep you from voting for another business you like.
