WinStar's Mr. Rouhana seemed to welcome such speculation. While he declined to comment on whether his company is in discussions with any carriers, he said WinStar "absolutely" would consider any buyout offers. "I think it's a great idea," he said. WinStar is currently valued at $936.1 million, based on its stock price on Friday and its 33.1 million shares outstanding.

Did he just change his mind? Were any offers fielded at this stage stage of buildout unreasonable? Is he just playing had to get?
