Gene: The US. finnally has a surplus trying to reduce debt.

When a country is finnally making money after so many years in debt would you not pay down your debt as well.

These other countries buying US bonds finnaly got in at this level when the Japanese started buying five years ago. In your opinion who has been the better market timer. The other countries took this long to get out of gold and yet evidense of more good market timing.

If I have to pick between who has the better maket timer, I would have to go along with the Japanese. I am now waiting for evidense of them doing what they said they might do.
