Luis, the silver lining you attribute to reverse-splits can also be found in a company buyback of its stock. Of course, the catch is that the latter requires cash. That is what I mean when I say that the reverse-split comes from a position of weakness which does not go unnoticed by the institutional investors.

The buyback achieves those goals without diluting one's investment, whereas the split...well we're all well enough aware of what it does for the stockholder.
