Reading this supports my sense that the US government has devolved back to where Britain and King George were in the mid 1700's with the colonies. The government of England was not adhering to the British Constitution in their dealings with their overseas subjects. Thus, the American revolution, less of a rebellion than a demand that the crown hold to its Constitution (i.e. rule of law) when governing the colonies. The American revolution was really the second British revolution, to enforce the Instrument of Government already adopted in the early 1600's. The fact is that the Constitution of the United States was not a totally new creation, since it was based upon the British one already in effect back home. Here today, again we find the government ignoring the laws to the detriment of the people. While there is some push back from the populace, it has not reached the pitch needed to force the government back to operating under the laws that restrain it.
