I was in the surveying lab at Forestry School calculating lats and deps. A fellow classmate who also happened to be a fraternity brother came in and said "Kennedy just got shot."

Of course I did not believe him because he was the kind of guy who would slap you on the back and say, "I heard your mother just died."

Another fraternity brother and I spent the rest of the day wandering the streets of Missoula in my jeep.
