Debra, Thanks for your great post, I hope it was taekn with the seriousness
with which it was delivered. I believe those who trashed some of the
attendee's comments were taken in by some of the short term hype
of the meeting, and the comments that lead one to believe that
investors or brokers hearing the story the first time would immediately
Wed. morning be in there buying huge positions. Instead, we had
just the opposite and those that could not attend the meeting, perhaps
thought that the story for FTEL hd sudenly changed and 100+ attendees
were suddenly exiting the market. Of course, when a stock bid up to
2.81 suddenly plummit to $1.75 the acid in my stomach shines louder
also. I believe that hype had been kept to a minimum here for the past
several months (Brad's All Caps Messages excepted), but started to excced its limit a week ago, with some "get in now, cuase you will never see below $3.00 kind of comments" which were certainly too speculative to believe. Yes, I believe decorum and the least amount of hype possible keeps everyone on a much more even keel. There are also two types of players here, the traders and investors as you pointed out. Those that have not experienced the growth of a small company have not realized the ups and downs of a stock price over the several years of existence needed for ideas to come to fruition, and a stock trading in the pennies to grow into a several hundred million dollar trevenue company, move from trading on the BB to a full NASD or AMEX listing. This takes time, and the company will roller coaster while growing. Sheez, FTEL is still working to become a reporting company again after it's 1993-94 reorg. For those, who got into this for a quick buck, it may or may onot work out for you. Long and pa |
