They could get it as high as 78% only by restricting the polling to the people who wrote papers in the subject. Those people have a financial stake in believing in global warming because as soon as the politicians give up on it, the funding for the science will collapse. The opinion that's being asked here amounts to "how good is climate science?" To get an unbiased opinion on that subject you need to look at the people who are sufficiently educated to judge it, but whose motives are not impugned by being in the field itself. In the poll, that figure was 37%. If I run a poll asking abortion doctors if the government should pay for abortions I'll get a number which is a lot higher than if I ask doctors in general or the general public. -- Carl
