Paul, buy the end of next year the sub zero segment will drop to $500.00 Intel offering of Pentium products will be a generation behind the others Idti and Nsm single chip solutions. AMD K-233 is a more powerful chip and will sell for around $100.00 or less.
Also on a more suttle issue... Sub zero's should ultimatly extend the market product life cycle for socket 7 MB technology well beyond its predicted death from Intel's slot 1 MB technology, as slot 1 and new solutions will be cost prohibited to lower end price sensitivity.
