Another value proposition I discovered is their facility uses petro-coke as the feed-stock not NG. This is a huge by-product by the refineries from processing the Canadian Tar Sands Oil. Now the EPA is getting on the refiner's case to develop better methods to dispose of this by-product. In fact, EPA may penalize refiners if petro-dust is not stored correctly.

How do you think the UAN margins would be if they were paid by the refiner to use their petro-coke? I like their unique technology which will reduce the unexpected by-product from refining that Canadian Sand Oil. Since Buffet is committed to those Canadian Sands, maybe he would be committed to more UAN type facilities. I am not sure if UAN holds any patents on their proprietary manufacturing technology but that could be a big bonus for the company if/when refiners see their petro-coke supplies build up.

So far, neighbors have blamed BP and Koch Industries, which owns the yard with Chicago's pet-coke piles. BP and Koch say there’s been a misunderstanding so far. BP says that it wasn’t actually sending more pet coke than usual to the Chicago yard this summer.
Seems like a win/win for the companies and public if everyone can get on the same page.
