Huawei Ascend W2 Officially Announced For India, Launch Imminent

Huawei today officially announced the Ascend W2 Windows Phone 8 device. This is a low-end smartphone that will compete with Nokia Lumia 520 in the market. It comes with 4.3-inch IPS WVGA (480×800) LCD display, powered by 1.4GHz dual-core Qaulcomm processor and 1700mAh battery . The device will have 512MB RAM and non-expandable 8GB inbuilt storage. It won’t have ant front cam while it will sport a 5-megapixel rear camera.

Kevin Ho, President of Handset Product Line, Huawei Consumer Business Group commented the following on this device launch,
“Building on the popularity of our first Windows Phone 8 device, HUAWEI Ascend W1, we created HUAWEI Ascend W2 so value-savvy people don’t have to compromise on great technology.”
Huawei is planning to launch this device in Russia and Netherlands this month followed by India. The device will be made available in black, red, blue and yellow variants.
