Look how wrong you can be Koan. I was tracked not to go to college- because I was a complete fuck up freshman and sophomore year (1.5 GPA). I found that out, got my ass in gear, and worked harder in high school (4.0 GPA next two years). But lots of students don't get their ass in gear. They don't want to go to college, and they don't give a shit about how they do in school. They don't LIKE it. They don't want to read- anything. That's on them. What I am saying is, those kids often have something else they are good at and want to do, and THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. You read what I say and hear that I don't think kids are good enough. I have never told any kid they aren't good enough- my own daughter doesn't know I think she's an idiot. I would never tell her that- I'm telling you, because I thought you were a big boy. You have a tin ear. What I am saying is I LISTEN to my students, and when they tell me they hate school, I get it- and I don't tell them they'll only be awesome if they go to college. I support whatever path they want to take- that's what responsible adults do for young people. My dreams don't have to be their dreams. My prejudices shouldn't limit them- and my love for education, doesn't mean everyone should love education.

And if you think college is not one bit harder than high school you are way higher than I've always thought you were, or you have only been to really shitty colleges.
