ROFL She's in college right now. She was just down here gloating about all the classes she got. We told her we'd pay for anywhere she wanted to go. She's the one who could not hack calculus, despite the tutors we offered to get her. Some people are crazy smart when it comes to insights in to literature. I know them when I meet them. And some people aren't. Those goody two shoes? Often they are amazing. Of course, if you're jealous of them, and you just don't like those kids, you can imagine they won't be successful- but that's a kind of bigotry, isn't it? Why do you hate on the kids who are doing well? Seems kind of stupid to me.
Now as to those other kids. Sure, some of them "learn at different speeds", and lots of them just don't want to learn, and some of them just can't learn. It would be nice if everyone could, but some folks are just right next door to being retarded. And it would be nice if we could just acknowledge that, and help students find a path that didn't involve setting them up for failure.
As for my daughter, she'll probably make more than I do- but it won't be something that involves going to a UC, and I'm just fine with that. She's made it clear she either can't, or won't, get through calculus- and I'm certainly not going to beat her up about that.
You dislike me, so you make a lot of weird assumptions about what I might be doing, that are totally and completely wrong. You might want to try to control that, because it makes you look stupid. |
