Ok, this post may seem a bit ridiculous, a trifle self-indulgent, and a little preposterous. But I thought it would be fun for everyone to read some of the posts on the newbie-nascent Yahoo message board for Topro. I'm doing this for two reasons: first, this SI-TPRO thread is gaining in notoriety, even if sometimes only in dubious channels. Second, because if you rachet up the sophistication level of the following posts a few notches, you may have the general investor-public perception at hand. I have left posters' names off except for Skipard's, who valiantly tried to save the day on this wonderful board. None of this is intended to sway anyone one way or the other; it's simply pure entertainment for the TPRO club; and the first few posts are homage to this site, namely Cheryl, Skip, Tokyomex, and others:
"My guess is TPRO will blow its top about the year 2003: until then I expect it to double every six months with most of its earnings appreciation in late 1998 and early 1999. This stock is in my opinion valued currently only for its core business, and the market has not accounted yet for its increasing Y2K exposure. SI has some amazing research on this company, and a very active thread. Downside, again in my opinion is 5, and upside many think it may reach twenty by the end of the year. This is only the opinion of a small time investor in the stock, and I've often been wrong, but check it out and do your own DD. Earnings due out at end of month unless there is an audit extension (company changed auditors two months ago.)"
"I suggest that people read the Silicon Investor page on Topro. They have some of the most comprehensive information you'll find anywhere. They have really done their homework."
"Yes, SI had hardware problems today. You are all correct in that the TPRO thread on SI is one of the best in existance."
"Yes, a lot of people are accumulating this stock. Go to Silicon Investor and take a look."
"Subj: My thoughts on TPRO By: Skipard I am a large owner of TPRO, average cost around $6. I have followed the company for 6 months, have met a number of times with management, talked to many in industry, and it seems they are the real deal.
They have a balance sheet only a mother would love, but now they are ready to start booking some very significant revenues, and alliances with some of the Fortune 50 companies. They do have the only product in this area, imbedded systems, and I like the management very much. These guys are winners, and when the stock gets the recognition it deserves, we should see higher prices." "I'm new to this message board thing, and am using skipard as a means to an entrance in the form of a reply. So its not meant for him. I've been an investor in TPRO now for about 6 months and have accumulated every time it has gone below 6 3/8. Obviously, I'm not the only one who has noticed this pattern but to date it has never failed. Its all about patterns - sort of like the AAPL rocketship near a certain convention. I've read SI's board almost daily, esp. PM's posts about women, travel, women, food, women and more women with great interest.[FROM ME AGAIN: DID HE MEAN TM????] And I must say have made some mucho bucks as a result of him - although indirectly. Did anyone notice that EXTI's shares jumped almost 200% as a result of his AON prediction which was preceded by a casual mention of having some EXTI shares? It was a matter of one day that I made 86%. This is the line of reasoning: AON prediction becomes reality, therefore people wonder hey this guy really knows what he is talking about!! correlation between him and EXTI dawns on most people at around 12 EST but us early birds have already gotten in at 0.05 since AON announcement hit I believe at around 9:15 EST - 6:15 Pacific. By 12 stock is flying (who cares if it is a dog of a stock - its perception people) and the momentum precedes to the next day where I sell in the morning. How high it will go know one can predict so had I waited I would have had another 100% but to almost double in one day is enough for me. Stock goes to about .15 and then reality hits - people ask what have I really gotten into? Well today its at 0.05 I believe. This is by no means to say that PM is a hypester but goes to show you how influential he can be. PM never said EXTI will fly but expressed an opinion on it, which was enough."
"As far as TPRO goes, this is a different story. Has anyone noticed that revenues have already tripled since last year? This may sound rhetoric but very few people seem to accept this fact. This company - IMHO(I believe this means In My Honest Opinion) - will fly. So what if it doesn't show net for a while. This just means its building a firmer launch pad. Next year's revs will TRIPLE (to put it mildly) again and then what do you think most of those paranoids will come up with? Someone said it best when they asked, "What more do you want - a DNA sample?" Show me the money - guess what? you're staring at it except you're standing to close. And lastly, the fact that people like PM and Skipard and CK own it is just more to the gravy."
"One more thing about patterns - I don't mean the Technical Analysis based on stock charts.Graphs tell you nothing except what has already happened. You have to ask what made it happen? What were the events - are they recurring? Why? Lets leave it at that."
"I sleep well at night. Do you? All I have to do is cuddle up to my TPRO."
"Skipard: You are wrong when you said, "They do have the only product in this area, imbedded systems." The fact is they DON'T have embedded systems for sales. They have NOTHING in "fixing" the Y2K problem. They only have a CD-ROM that might help users to identifying their exposure to the millenium problem. Please don't confuse the Yahoo readers with you misinformtion, regardless of your intent (slip-of-tongue or planned hype). When I have a Y2K problem, I'll call the manufacturer of my system who will provide me with the fixes. Why should I buy CDs from TPRO? What do they have besides CDs? Nothing, I may add. They know nothing about my problem and they don't have the expertise to fix it. Why should I throw my money away to a third party? TPRO is now diluting its shares in a record pace. Promises are made and NOT delivered. It still has a loss in operations and this loss will get bigger. Read the 10-K and you'll discovered that its management has been diluting the shareholders' equities while inventing excuses to mask their intentions to lure more gamblers into the game of musical chair. I pity the TPRO shareholders who swallow the bait. I wish you well." "I called the Topro home number and asked what products they sell. The lady said they sell integration packages, hardware and software among others. She is mailing a package of the products they market. I find it hard to believe the other companies would have joined TPRO if TPRO only sold CD ROMs."
"Any company can claim that they sell integrated packages in hardware/software. So does Comp USA. These guys train some entry level technicians and let them out to the field labelling them as experts in Y2K. This is a common fradulent practice many Y2K companies employ to milk the uninformed. The reality check is the old fashioned way such as sales and earnings which is still in the long distance future. When earnings do come in late (September or December 1998) next year, the management would have diluted TPRO into a 30 million shares company with the number of out outstanding shares growing at an annual rate of 30% or more."
"Why should anyone own something that has been diluting at such an alarming rate? Please check their 10-K (read the finance carefully) and you'll find out what I stated is the absolute truth. Only their management would benefit from their dilutive practice."
"Why should anyone invest in the Y2K companies that have a very limited life span? A $3.0 trillion problem? Not a chance."
"Thanks for the input about their CD-ROM. Went to their Web Site & read their info about their products (Method,Inventory,Compiance, Manage). You are absolutly correct. They don't FIX anything! All the program does is identify where the client is not in compliance, what has to be done, and then monitors the progress & gives the client reports. This is obviously worth something, but what? Microsoft could give this away for FREE to get a client to buy their NT system. I've doubled my $ in this one. I'm out of here."
More coming up.....
