<<<I saw the news while following the ticker at a brokerage office on Broadway in NYC.>>>

I was in my college dorm room cramming for a test while listening to the radio. I listened so long to the news, I nearly forgot the test--I rushed across campus and got to the class near the end of the time for the test. I announced to the class the news. The professor immediately canceled the test--lucky for me, as I would have never been able to concentrate on the test. Kennedy was my hero, even with all his human frailties. I found it sad today that his daughter, Caroline, had opted for her new assignment in Japan instead of being here due to the sad memory of what happened, those 50 years ago. I heard today that in the interim period of Kennedy's assassination, more than one million US citizens have been killed by guns here in our country. One should never forget--Oswald ordered the gun he used through a NRA magazine ad --and now all these years later we can't even get a background check law passed to prevent the next million from being killed -- with always the excuse defense being that guns don't kill people.
