SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1997--Siebel Systems, Inc. and Microsoft announced today that Siebel Sales Enterprise has won the Microsoft Industry Solutions Award (ISA) for best Inside Sales Application.

The award was presented to Siebel Systems on Dec. 4 at the DCI Sales and Marketing Automation Conference and Exposition held in Boston. Microsoft instituted the ISA program this year to recognize leadership in enterprise sales, marketing, and customer service applications. Co-sponsored by Sales and Field Force Automation magazine, the award was granted after a thorough evaluation of leading telesales application software products.

Siebel Enterprise Applications provide a comprehensive closed-loop information solution for call centers and telemarketing organizations. Leading organizations worldwide including Compaq Computer Corporation, The Charles Schwab Company, and Texas Commerce Bank, employ Siebel to manage outbound calling campaigns, inbound call routing and resolution, and customer service operations. The result is increased call rates, increased conversion rates, and higher levels of customer satisfaction.

"Microsoft is happy to recognize Siebel as a winner in our first Customer Management Industry Solution Awards," said Matt Ragen, worldwide group manager of customer management markets at Microsoft. "Siebel's award-winning solution for customer management, based on their adoption of Microsoft technology, serves as proof of the high quality of applications that is the result of designing for the Microsoft Windows NT and BackOffice family of products."

"Siebel Systems is proud to have been selected as the clear leader in this field," said Bruce Cleveland, vice president, marketing, at Siebel Systems. "This award underscores the success of our close collaboration with Microsoft in addressing the needs of global organizations for enterprise-class sales, marketing, and customer service information system solutions."
