I'll have to respectfully disagree Max. Laudable that he lives well below his income and has chosen dividends as his path to retirement.

His bio doesn't say he wants to retire in his 40s it says: My goal is to retire by 40 and live off my dividends.

"I've been living frugally for about four years now." "this portfolio spits out well over $4,000year."

That's great, but his monthly nut X 12 = $27,552 and will no doubt be higher in nine years, with inflation alone.

I've been goal oriented all my life. A goal needs to be attainable to be met. Intentions don't get you there.

So though I applaud what he is doing, I believe his goal is unrealistic.
