Sid; I wonder if Ballard will make hybrid flywheel/fuel cell vehicles? The flywheel has fast charge/discharge ability and can take the place of the battery as the fuel cell takes the place of the engine. In effect you have two power makers, an engine and a fuel cell. You also have two power storage methods, batteries and flywheels, and one drive mechanism in electric motors.(two if you optionally drive the wheels with the gas/diesel motor) A hybrid flywheel fuel cell needs a smaller fuel cell as the FW can give large start up and acceleration surges(like a battery, but lighter) llnl.gov This is Lawrence Livermore, search for flywheels. They have some that will run busses. Interseting read. They will also send you data. I think Ballard should partner with them, and add flywheels to their developmental cycles. Bill
