With option grant programs (such as WiLAN's) where they continually reissue new options after the share price collapses, there is a perverse incentive for management to destroy shareholder wealth.

To prevent this type of skewed risk taking, there needs to be proper controls on the option reward program. WiLAN's BoD fails to control option grants properly and is far too liberal in resetting option strikes..

Of course, it's all moot at this stage, given WiLAN is no longer a going concern, at least not by my definition of having a sustainable market advantage with a functioning business model....
